How’s Your Appetite?
In natural terms, a healthy appetite along with a suitable diet is required for a person’s general well-being. However, an unbalanced appetite can result in negative repercussions in an individual’s life. If someone’s appetite is excessive, it may result in an unhealthy body. Conversely, if someone’s appetite is stifled, it may result in a sickly and weak body. This dynamic is true even in the Christian walk.
As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby. - 1 Peter 2:2 (KJV)
Peter challenged the believers to have a healthy spiritual appetite. They were to desire the word of God. On today, how is your appetite? How is your desire for the word of God? Reading the scriptures and listening to sermon, lectures, etc… should not be a chore for you. If so, your spiritual appetite is out of order. You set yourself up for spiritual deficiencies. Ask God to help your spiritual appetite, that you will continually hunger and thirst after righteousness and His word.
