Though many try to spiritualize and refute the 2nd Advent of Jesus Christ, it does not negate its reality, validity, or authenticity. Christ declared that He would return once again. This is the hope of our salvation that we will live with Him forever and ever. Though men challenge the reality of this event, it still stands firm. As Peter wrote to the Christians of his day, he said these words…

Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,  And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. 2 Peter 3:3-4 (KJV)

Peter warned the Christians that the days would come when individuals will come against the teaching of Christ’s return. We see today that his statements are true. But as Christians, we must hold and stand fast to the fact that He will come again. And if He is coming again, we can live in great expectation.Though many today may be experiencing troubles in this life, we can rejoice daily knowing that He will come and receive us into the kingdom of God.
